Ever fall for your own nonsense?

Published almost 2 years ago • 1 min read

I mean, COME ON - I'm very convincing. Same? Any of this sound familiar?

Nah, I don't need to get up this early, I'll [fill-in-the-blank with whatever thing I'm definitely NOT doing later], do it later. I'll get back on track next week. No sense of bothering now, it already started. I'm running late.

Sometimes, we undermine our own dreams and desires by making excuses and then falling for them. Another biggie is having an all or nothing mentality. This is hardly ever true, by the way. For most things, you can catch up or get started at anytime. Some is better than none.

If we're going to tell ourselves stories (and we sure do), then let's change the narrative. Let's tell ourselves things like - you're strong and capable of doing whatever it is you want to do. You can start again, even when you stumble. You don't have anything to prove to anyone - except yourself.

P.S. join me on 7/24/22 for a virtual creativity workshop, Return to Yourself with Ceremony. It's only $7 (free for A Call to Create participants) and a great way to get that narrative shift headed in the right direction. Listen to this podcast to get warmed up and I'll meet you there.

Cheers to your badass self, Robin xoxoxoxoxo

Hello, sweet sunshine: You've been on my mind and I'm reaching out this morning to let you know that though it may not be evident, you're on my mind A LOT. I wonder how you're doing over there and I hope that each day finds you curious and seeking new adventure. I have this same wish and intention for myself because I want to walk through my days - my life - deeply connected to this experience and to those around me. What a joy it is that we're here together, right now. One of the ways I find...

Oh hey there, Reader! I hope your early summer is ripe with possibility and beauty. I'm dropping by to let you know that it was time to do a little clean up on the workshop content for A Call to Create. You have access for the lifetime of the workshop and I hope you take full advantage of that. Take my word for it, each time you go through the content or work a little more on your incredible creations, it's a different experience and it just gets better and better. It is my dearest wish that...

Hola! I've recently returned from Mexico and I've been working on my Spanish. Want to meet me on Duolingo? Brushing up on Spanish is just one way I've been learning something new. I find that creating new things in my life gives each day more depth and meaning and I REALLY DIG THAT. A couple of days ago, I facilitated a creative workshop with Mindful Soul Center, which was fabulous and challenged my tech skills as I balanced the Zoom meeting, the slides, and tried to make sure I was looking...
